I recently repaired an XMDS32 assembled LCD TV that would boot up but show a very dark image, then turn black. However, the sound was normal, and I could see the image with a flashlight. Based on this, I concluded it was a backlight issue.
After checking the backlight output voltage, it started at 50V but gradually dropped to 20V. However, even when the voltage was between 50V and 40V, the backlight remained dim. This led me to suspect a faulty LED lamp bead.
I decided to dismantle the screen and power it on. I noticed only a few LEDs were faintly lit, and they only turned on briefly when the power was first applied. The power supply to the light strip was normal, but after opening a few LED covers, I found that several of them had failed. Since the TV lacked backlight protection, the weak LEDs caused the entire backlight to fail, resulting in most of the lamp beads being damaged.
There were 10 light strips, and I had to replace all of them. I sourced replacement lamp beads from a Skyworth 42-inch LCD TV by disassembling its light strips and replacing the original 30 beads. After a long-term power test, the brightness of the lamp beads returned to normal.
I cleaned the replaced LEDs with alcohol, applied glue to the plastic covers for about three seconds, and reinstalled the screen. The TV worked perfectly after the repair.
Finally, I used an RT809F programmer to copy the original data online for future reference. Attached are the photos and the data files.
