LED large-scale application of Expo site construction and lighting emission reduction 30%

Among them, solar photovoltaic power generation technology and large-scale application of LEDs reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of buildings and lighting in the Expo Park by 30%.

According to Shou Ziqi, director of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, since the World Expo in London in 1851, the most popular products at every World Expo have been the latest products and technological achievements that showcase technological innovation. In the transportation sector, 1,017 new energy vehicles are being commercialized on a large scale inside and outside the park, including 196 fuel cell vehicles, 321 pure electric vehicles and 500 hybrid vehicles. It is expected to save about 10,000 tons of traditional fuel and reduce greenhouse gases. The emissions are about 28,400 tons.

Solar photovoltaic power generation is widely used in the Expo site, with a total installed capacity of about 5 megawatts. The Expo theme pavilion has an installed capacity of 2.8 megawatts. It is the largest photovoltaic building integrated grid-connected power generation system in Asia.

LED lighting technology illuminates the World Expo, the urban best practice area, the landscape lighting of the Axis and Four Pavilions completely adopts LED, and more than 80% of the night scenes of the entire park adopt LED.

The implementation of the river water source heat pump system in the Expo Park has a total installed capacity of 75,000 kW, which can save 10%-30% of the operating cost compared with the traditional water-cooled chiller plus boiler; compared with the air source heat pump, the summer saves over 40%, winter Save more than 30% of operating costs. The Expo Center is also the first to obtain the highest certification of China's green buildings. The total energy consumption is lower than 80% of the national energy-saving standards. It is estimated that 2160 tons of standard coal can be saved every year.

Director Shou Ziqi said that through the implementation of these projects, the “low carbon emissions” of the Expo Park will be realized, and the “zero emissions” of public transport in the park, and the carbon dioxide emissions of buildings and lighting will be reduced by 30%.
