Today, according to technology website VentureBeat, a market research company Super Data published a research report that in 2016, global virtual reality headline sales were 6.3 million units.

According to the report, Samsung Gear VR sales were estimated at 4.5 million units last year, and Sony PlayStation VR ranked second in sales of "approx. 1 million units." This means that the combined sales of virtual reality heads from Oculus, Google and HTC is about 1 million units.
