Spreadtrum Helps China Mobile to jointly launch a $50 VoLTE solution

The 2016 World Mobile Communications Conference (MWC) is in full swing in Barcelona and is highly regarded by the world's communications industry. Following the opening of the first day of February 22, Spreadtrum launched its first 16-nm 64-bit 8-core 5-mode LTE SoC platform SC9860. On the 23rd, Spreadtrum once again brought good news, announced at the GTI 2016 International Industry Summit held during MWC. Launched a $50 VoLTE solution with China Mobile.

The Spreadtrum SC9830, which supports this solution, is a highly integrated LTE smartphone platform that integrates quad-core application processors and supports five current mainstream network formats and VoLTE for TD-LTE, LTE FDD, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA and GSM.

China Mobile Chairman Shang Bing also introduced at the launching ceremony. In 2016, China Mobile will focus on establishing global seamless connectivity, promoting 4G international roaming, VoLTE roaming, WiFi roaming, and achieving low-cost, high-quality, wide-coverage international Interconnecting capabilities. At the same time, it accelerates the commercial development of VoLTE based on TD-LTE. At present, China Mobile has launched VoLTE commercial services in 100 cities, providing users with better HD voice services.

In the face of China Mobile's VoLTE commercial strategy, SC9860, a 4G SoC platform for mid- to high-end smartphones launched by Spreadtrum, also supports VoLTE and supports the global full-band LTE CAT 7 level. It will be the most cost-effective and low-cost gear with SC9830. On the VoLTE solution, it provides comprehensive and powerful support for China Mobile's VoLTE strategy.
