The night scene of the Shanghai World Expo will be fascinating by all kinds of lights, but there will be no light pollution and glare. This was yesterday at the Expo Science and Technology Conference held by the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the chief designer of the Shanghai World Expo, and the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University. Professor Hao Luoxi revealed that she will use energy-saving semiconductor lighting by 2010, including Expo Avenue, Harmony Tower and Urban Creative Plaza.
In addition to energy saving, LED lights are also rich in color, intelligent, and durable, less waste. Professor Hao Luoxi introduced that the Expo will use a large number of LED light sources in landscape lighting. At the same time, as an important visit content, night lighting will also adopt various new energy-saving lighting tools, and the power consumption is only 1/10 of the current.
On the specific plan, the night lighting design of the Expo will form three main axes: the Huangpu River, the Expo Axis, and the elevated walkway across the main national pavilions in Pudong. Hao Luoxi also revealed that the Expo will enable interesting lighting, such as bumpy colored squares on the ground.
