3PAR expands its cloud computing support to Red Hat server virtualization
With the further expansion of the 3PAR InForm® operating system's support for server virtualization platforms, 3PAR and Red Hat's joint customers can now use Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization to achieve the integration of virtualized storage and server virtualization, resulting in the following benefits:
Reduce physical server purchases by 50%. It has been proven that 3PAR public storage can improve server performance without reducing reliability. In some cases, server virtualization customers can also configure the number of virtual machines per physical server (also known as "virtual machine density" ") Doubled without reducing performance and reliability. This means that after users of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization choose 3PAR public storage, physical server purchase and deployment requirements can be reduced by as much as 50% compared to traditional storage arrays.
Simplify management. It has been proven that 3PAR public storage enables users to reduce storage management time in virtual server environments by as much as 90%. The InServ platform includes many automated storage management functions designed to improve Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, such as 3PAR Autonomic Groups (automatic groups). Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor based on KVM technology is managed by Red Hat Enterprise Server Virtualization Manager (a feature-rich server virtualization management system). Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization can be deployed as a separate bare-metal hypervisor, or as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 (or higher). In the second case, Red Hat Enterprise Linux is installed as a hypervisor host and managed through Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager.
