The incident began when a user in Shijiazhuang posted in Hypereal’s QQ group about an issue they were facing: they couldn't run games through Pano on Hypereal's client, yet the same games worked perfectly fine on the SteamVR platform. The user, a professional VR developer, challenged the CEO to a bet—give them a million yuan if the Hypereal client could handle the games, or ask the CEO to resign if it couldn’t. CEO Huang Chaiming immediately agreed, expressing his willingness to personally address the problem. He promptly booked the next flight to Shijiazhuang, impressing many users in the group with his dedication and swift action.
The following day, Huang Chaiming kept his word and arrived at the user's home accompanied by both software and hardware engineers. They meticulously addressed every technical question and conducted multiple tests. Eventually, the team discovered that Hypereal’s Spacetime Image Reconstruction feature was incompatible with the user’s hardware. While this function aimed to enhance user experience, it clashed with certain settings on SteamVR, causing the games to fail to launch. When running Hypereal games, this feature was automatically enabled and, due to the hardware incompatibility, some games couldn’t run properly.
After solving the issue, the user posed for a photo with Huang Chaiming and expressed gratitude for his prompt resolution. Huang Chaiming noted that the user’s computer setup was unique and promised detailed documentation would follow. Despite the late hour, the Hypereal team returned to Shanghai amid rain, ready to tackle the challenges of the new week.
