VR/AR Application Development Exchange Conference Successfully Hosted Beijing-Tianjin VR/AR Business Exchange and Cooperation

On the afternoon of September 26th, the "VR/AR Application Development and Exchange Conference," sponsored by the Tianjin Science and Technology Workers' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center and the Tianjin Virtual Reality Industry Base, was successfully held at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center's venue. Hosted by Tsinghua Qidi Holding’s VR Network platform, the event brought together leaders from top virtual reality companies across Beijing and Tianjin, industry professionals, scientific workers, local university representatives, and media figures. With the rapid development of VR/AR hardware and technologies, content ecosystems have become a key factor in shaping the future of the industry. To enhance technical capabilities, foster internal communication, and connect with leading industry resources, the organizers launched this conference. It also aimed to support the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and promote the industrialization of VR/AR technology in Tianjin. Xu Wei, CEO and founder of the Tianjin Virtual Reality Industry Base, welcomed attendees and emphasized that today’s participants represent the leading force in the local VR industry. He noted that 2016 marked the beginning of the VR era, with AR platforms like ARKit and ARCore gradually entering daily life. As the VR/AR ecosystem matures, it is expected to become a major technological highlight of the next decade, bringing transformative changes to society. Liu Yong, CEO of Enlighten Virtual Reality (VR Network), introduced the concept of “R+,” which encompasses VR, AR, MR, and HR. He highlighted how each generation of screen innovation—from TV to PC, mobile phones, and now VR—has shaped the digital landscape. Liu emphasized that R+ has the potential to revolutionize traditional industries, much like the Internet did before. With government support and growing investment, the VR/AR sector is poised for significant growth. Ding Ronghui, a partner from 51VR, discussed the importance of high-quality VR content in attracting users and driving commercial success. He shared examples of 51VR’s projects, including real estate visualization, automotive testing, educational applications, and gaming experiences. Ding expressed optimism about the future of VR, despite past challenges, and stressed the need for patience and innovation in the field. Yan Hongwei, CEO of XFN, focused on the potential and challenges of VR education. He outlined the market’s vast opportunities but also warned about common pitfalls such as high costs, slow adoption, and limited awareness among educators. Yan advocated for strategic positioning, content focus, and collaboration to overcome these obstacles and build a sustainable VR education ecosystem. During the roundtable discussion, industry leaders from Tianjin shared their perspectives on the current state of the VR/AR sector. They emphasized the need for stronger cooperation, better government support, and clearer strategies to leverage Tianjin’s industrial strengths. The panelists agreed that while the city lacks iconic VR companies, there is great potential for growth through collaboration and targeted initiatives. The conference concluded with a call for continued dialogue and exchange. VR Network plans to host more events to connect global VR/AR professionals and provide a platform for innovation and collaboration. The event attracted widespread attention and received positive feedback from participants and the media alike.
