VR/AR Application Development Exchange Conference Successfully Hosted Beijing-Tianjin VR/AR Business Exchange and Cooperation

On the afternoon of September 26th, the "VR/AR Application Development and Exchange Conference" was successfully held in Tianjin. Organized by the Tianjin Science and Technology Workers Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center and the Tianjin Virtual Reality Industry Base, and hosted by Tsinghua Qidi Holding's VR Network platform, the event took place at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center’s venue. Attendees included leaders from top virtual reality companies in Beijing and Tianjin, industry professionals, scientific workers, and local university representatives, as well as media members. With the rapid development of VR hardware and technology, content creation and ecosystem building have become crucial for the future growth of the VR/AR industry. To enhance technical capabilities, foster internal communication, and connect with leading industry resources, the conference aimed to promote exchanges and collaboration within the VR/AR sector in Tianjin. The event also supported the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, encouraging resource integration and industrialization of VR technologies. Xu Wei, CEO and founder of the Tianjin Virtual Reality Industry Base, welcomed all participants. He emphasized that the attendees represented the leading force in Tianjin’s VR industry and highlighted the significance of 2016 as the first year of VR. With the introduction of ARKit and ARCore, AR has begun to enter daily life. As the VR/AR ecosystem matures, it is expected to become a major technological trend in the next decade, bringing transformative changes. In the VR/AR field, content development plays a vital role in driving industry vitality and creating opportunities for startups. However, the industry is still in its early stages and requires government support, scientific backing, and collaboration among entrepreneurs. As one of the organizers, the Tianjin Virtual Reality Industry Base aims to strengthen cooperation between Beijing and Tianjin-based VR/AR companies to build a strong regional cluster. During the event, VR/AR professionals from both cities shared insights on current trends and discussed how VR/AR could integrate with traditional industries. Highlights included presentations from key industry figures such as Liu Yong, CEO of Enlighten Virtual Reality (VR Network), who introduced the concept of “R+” — encompassing VR, AR, MR, and HR. He emphasized that VR is the fourth screen, following TV, computers, and mobile phones, and predicted that R+ would revolutionize traditional industries much like Internet+ did. Liu also outlined Enlightenment Holdings’ three-dimensional spiral model, focusing on collaboration between government, enterprises, and universities, innovation carriers, and capital, technology, and industry alignment. He explained that the company aims to build an ecosystem that supports talent development, incubation, and industry growth. Another speaker, Ding Ronghui from 51VR, discussed the importance of high-quality VR content in attracting users and driving commercialization. He mentioned that 51VR has developed immersive experiences in real estate, automotive, education, and gaming, and is working toward a fully integrated virtual world called "51World." He also highlighted the potential of VR to simulate multiple senses, offering a more realistic user experience. Yan Hongwei, CEO of XFN, addressed the challenges and opportunities in VR education. He noted the market potential driven by policy support, a large student population, and increasing investment. However, he warned about common pitfalls, including high hardware costs, resistance from educators, and the need for quality content. He emphasized the importance of strategic positioning, content development, and user experience in the education sector. A roundtable discussion brought together leaders from various VR/AR companies in Tianjin. They shared insights on the industry’s future, the need for better collaboration, and strategies to leverage Tianjin’s strengths in sectors like aerospace and advanced manufacturing. Participants stressed the importance of open cooperation, information sharing, and building a supportive ecosystem. The conference concluded with a call for continued collaboration and knowledge exchange. VR Network plans to host more events to support global VR/AR practitioners and provide a platform for innovation and growth. For more updates, follow VR Network on WeChat or visit their website.
