The TDK Group is proud to introduce the new HVC200A bipolar high-voltage DC contactor, designed for reliable and safe interruption of high DC voltages and currents. This contactor operates efficiently at up to 450VDC and can handle freewheeling currents of up to 200A. When a DC load is disconnected, the arc produced is quickly and safely extinguished by the arc-quenching gas contained within the sealed switch chamber, ensuring improved performance and safety.
The HVC200A series is available in two models: B88269X1000C and B88269X1010C, with dimensions of 89mm × 44mm × 93.5mm (length × width × height). These models are specifically tailored for 12V and 24V drive applications, respectively. Both versions consume only 6W at rated voltage, making them highly energy-efficient. Additionally, the contactors come with optional circuitry for monitoring the switch’s operational status, providing enhanced system reliability.
With its strong freewheeling capability, the HVC200A is ideal for use in electric vehicles, where it can quickly disconnect the battery from the driver or DC charging station. It also finds applications in photovoltaic systems and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), where stable and safe electrical isolation is critical.
In response to growing market demands, the company is actively developing new contactor models with freewheeling capabilities ranging from 100A to 500A and maximum operating voltages up to 900V. These next-generation products will be optimized for use in battery isolation switches and onboard charging circuits for electric vehicles, as well as in large-scale photovoltaic power stations and industrial UPS systems.
