Foreign media news, the Swiss data protection agency "Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Committee (FDPIC)" announced that after investigation, Windows 10 violated the Swiss information protection law by automatically uploading user privacy information.

It is understood that FDPIC began investigating Windows 10 in August 2015, and the investigation is now over. On the 12th, FDPIC said in a report, "The investigation found that Windows 10 automatically triggers the transmission and access of almost all data, which means that a large amount of user data will be automatically uploaded to the Microsoft server, including the user's detailed location, browsing. Access records, search records, keyboard input records, and nearby Wi-Fi network information."

In addition, the FDPIC report also stated that Windows 10's "Quick Access" and "Preferences" pages failed due to lack of information such as browser information, feedback and diagnostic data, and the length of time that uploaded data was stored. Fully in line with the country’s transparency requirements.

Therefore, the Swiss side determined that Windows 10 automatically uploads user privacy information in violation of Swiss information protection laws. FDPIC has the right to request Microsoft to make adjustments. If Microsoft refuses, FDPIC can choose to block Windows 10 in its home country.

However, since Microsoft has agreed to modify the transparency of Windows 10 in data processing, it decided not to file a lawsuit against Microsoft. It is reported that Microsoft has submitted a revised plan and has been approved by FDPIC.

FDPIC said: "This year, Microsoft will release two new versions of Windows 10 worldwide, and then modify the information processing method to meet our requirements." Windows 10 is different from previous versions of Windows, although already The official version of Windows 10 is available, but Microsoft is still testing new versions to fix vulnerabilities and enhance features.
