The closing contract of the 2017 World Robotics Conference was nearly 8 billion yuan

On August 27th, the 2017 World Robotics Conference came to a successful close after five days of engaging events and exhibitions. Held in Beijing, this year’s conference drew an impressive turnout, with over 12,000 participants across various competitions and more than 240,000 visitors exploring the exhibits. A total of 80 contracts were signed between research institutions and companies, amounting to nearly 8 billion yuan. Xin Guobin, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted the importance of the conference during its closing ceremony. He noted that the event not only showcased cutting-edge robotic technologies from over 10 countries and regions but also provided a unique platform for international collaboration among research institutions and businesses. These partnerships resulted in 80 agreements being inked with a combined value nearing 8 billion yuan. The exhibition itself spanned 50,000 square meters and featured some of the most advanced robotic innovations available today. Renowned manufacturers from 10 countries and regions brought their best to display bionic machines, jellyfish-inspired designs, intelligent collaborative robots, four-legged bio-inspired robots, and even emotional robots. Among the thousands of high-tech products on display, attendees were particularly captivated by these futuristic creations, drawing crowds of over 240,000 visitors throughout the event. In terms of competitions, the conference hosted 1,017 teams and over 4,500 individuals from around the globe, with approximately 400 participants hailing from overseas. The contests covered five major categories: the China Open UAV Challenge, the BCI Brain-Controlled Robot Contest, the Fighting Robot Competition, the Youth Design Competition, and the inaugural China Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) Challenge. Collectively, these events saw participation from more than 12,000 individuals, showcasing both the depth and breadth of global interest in robotics. Another highlight of the conference was its focus on fostering partnerships between research institutions and companies. Over the course of the event, firms inked 80 contracts worth nearly 8 billion yuan, underscoring the growing significance of robotics in driving technological innovation and economic growth.
