Interpretation: Specific requirements for all luminaires by the US ENERGY STAR standard

The US Department of Energy (DOE) also believes that SSL (Solid State Lighting) technology is in a period of rapid development. Diversification of products makes product performance different, and as emerging technologies and emerging industries, materials, drives, system forms, and controls are used. And photometric characteristics are different from traditional light sources, but because of the lack of perfect industry standards, resulting in a series of problems in product evaluation and circulation, it is necessary to establish new test procedures and industry standards.

After three drafts, the US Department of Energy released a final confirmed version of the Energy Star standard for LED light sources, which will take effect on August 31, 2010. The ENERGY STAR standard puts forward various requirements for light efficiency, luminous flux, light intensity, color temperature, displayability, packaging, noise, and lumen maintenance rate for integral LED lamps. It also requires rapid cycle stress testing for monolithic LED lamps. .

ENERGY STAR standards have specific requirements for all lights

Special requirements have been put forward for the ENERGY STAR standard for directional lights such as spotlights. For light efficiency, the minimum is 40lm/W when the lamp diameter is less than or equal to 20/8 inches, and the minimum is 45lm/W when the lamp diameter is greater than 20/8 inches; the lowest light output (BRERKR) is equal to the power of the replaced lamp. 10 times; lumen maintenance rate requires 25,000 hours greater than or equal to 70%.
