Toshiba has developed high-efficiency OLED elements with luminous efficiency close to LED

Recently, Toshiba has developed an 8cm & TImes; 7cm high luminous efficiency lighting OLED element with a luminous efficiency of up to 91lm / W.

In March 2012, the luminous efficiency of Toshiba's OLED elements exhibited to the outside world was 60lm / W. In the past six months, Toshiba has adopted various improvements to change the material of the electron transport layer, add metal auxiliary wiring to ITO as a transparent electrode, and change the back electrode (cathode) material from the original aluminum (Al) to reflectance. A series of measures such as high other materials have greatly improved its luminous efficiency.

Some analysts said that Toshiba's method for improving the luminous efficiency of OLED elements is not a new technology to some extent, but it is very effective. The biggest feature of Toshiba is that it achieves large-area, high-efficiency, and low-voltage operation with a simple element structure and standard light-emitting materials.

It is reported that in order to obtain high luminous efficiency, many companies mostly use technology to improve light extraction efficiency on the surface of the element. For example, adding a high refractive index layer near the transparent electrode, and forming a unique light extraction layer on the surface of the device.
