Central Bank: Mobile payment standards officially announced at the end of the year
The high-profile mobile payment standards are expected to be known by the end of the year. At the Electronic Banking Summit Forum hosted by the China Financial Certification Center (CFCA) yesterday, Fan Shuangwen, deputy director of the Central Bank's Payment and Settlement Department, revealed that mobile payment standards are now recognized as 13.56M led by China UnionPay. The reporter learned from the central bank yesterday that mobile payment standards still require the signing of several major departments and will be officially released by the end of this year.
2.4G standard or not completely abandoned
In April of this year, the central bank gathered more than 40 industry related parties such as commercial banks, UnionPay, and mobile communication operators to establish a mobile payment standard writing group. In the end, 13.56M led by China UnionPay was determined as the standard for mobile payment.
However, Fan Shuangwen said frankly, "I think it is better not to make a one-size-fits-all communication model. It is better to promote a technology while leaving room for other standards to survive." An industry source in mobile payment said that the 13.56M standard is implemented , Does not mean that China Mobile has completely given up 2.4G, it is expected that China Mobile will continue to maintain in the area where 2.4G has been promoted.
In fact, China Mobile's 2.4G standard has more intellectual property rights, but its technology has not yet matured and has become a weakness.
Intervention in the mobile payment market should be cautious
Fan Shuangwen also pointed out that the administrative department should intervene in the mobile payment market with a cautious attitude to create a good external environment for the development of the mobile payment service market and mobile payment industry.
Fan Shuangwen said that now the entire business model, technical model and security management of mobile payment are in the exploration stage, and the market is more needed to play a role. All participants in the market should be encouraged to give full play to their initiative and explore boldly to achieve the ideal state of blooming flowers.
