STMicroelectronics High Temperature Silicon Power Switch Improves Reliability of Motorcycles and Industrial Equipment

ST's thyristor rectifiers (SCRs) enable regulators, switching power supply surge limiters, motor control circuits, and industrial solid state relay manufacturers to increase the reliability of their application designs, using smaller heat sinks and lowering them. System cost.

Designed to meet the power needs of a wide range of industrial manufacturing equipment and two- and three-wheeled vehicles, ST's high-temperature SCR-controlled silicon rectifiers are particularly well-suited for cost-effective and reliable voltage regulator markets.

The new product TN4015HSCR has an operating junction temperature of up to 150oC and an on-state RMS current rating of 40A, expanding and refining its existing 12A-20A product line. The new device's gate-trigger current control is accurate, which improves the test reproducibility of the customer's assembly line and increases the reliability of the final product accordingly. Compared with the previous generation, the new SCR also improves the gate current sensitivity, while the electrical noise immunity is also the best in its class.

Main technical features:

·       High immunity (dV/dt rise rate up to 1000V/μs);

·          600V blocking voltage;

·          The rate of increase of the on current is high (dI/dt = 100 A/μs);

·          ECOPACK ® 2 package, in line with relevant industry safety standards, product certification speed;

·          Available in a variety of power packages, the UL1557 certified [1] isolation package has a maximum withstand voltage of up to 2500 V RMS .
