Datang NXP Semiconductors welcomes business opportunities in the mainland market

NXP Semiconductors and Datang Telecom Technology Co., Ltd. announced that their joint venture company has obtained a business license from the mainland government, representing the official establishment of the first automotive semiconductor company in mainland China. Datang NXP Semiconductors Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Nantong, mainland China, adjacent to Shanghai, and has begun operations.

The company specializes in the development and sale of high-end automotive electronics applications using high-performance mixed-signal technology. As the largest supplier of the automotive semiconductor market in the mainland, NXP holds 49% of the joint venture and Datang Telecom holds 51%.

Datang NXP Semiconductors' employees are comprised of local engineers and experts who focus on the development of semiconductor solutions to meet the growing demand for the latest automotive energy technologies in the mainland electric and hybrid vehicle markets.

The mainland government emphasizes the determination to develop energy-saving and new energy vehicles to support its economic growth. Datang NXP Semiconductors expects the electric vehicle market to grow for ten years, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 70%, which will increase from 20,000 to more than 3 million in the next 10 years. The mainland government is further expanding its electric vehicle purchase subsidy program, expanding from more than 80 cities in 25 cities, and plans to invest heavily in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, which is expected to build more than 200,000 charging stations nationwide.
