Optimistic about Taiwan's lighting market, Philips enters LED home lighting

Philips is the first to introduce LED home lighting, and is the first international lighting manufacturer to systematically launch a full range of home lighting.
Bai Jiansheng, general manager of Philips in Taiwan, pointed out that the annual lighting market in Taiwan is about NT$20-30 billion, and the company has also begun to enter the LED home lighting market.
Philips estimates that if T2 energy-saving, waterproof lighting and other up to 220 models, up to 450 by the end of 2010, it is expected to reach 15% of the market within three years, becoming the market leader.
The first wave of products listed is about 220, of which about 25% are LED light sources. It is expected to reach 450 at the end of 2010.
In terms of product positioning, Philips said it is based on mid-range, mid-to-high-end products. For example, in the case of LED home lighting, the price ranges from 2,000 to 3,000 yuan to NT$2,300,000.
