CEC TITLE 24 releases new regulations for efficient light sources to meet test requirements

CEC TITLE 24 released a new building energy efficiency regulation in 2016. The high efficiency light source required by the regulations must meet the testing and requirements of Joint Appendix JA8-2016. This regulation requires that the strobe (Flicker) for efficient illumination sources be quantified and reported.

Theoretical analysis on stroboscopic illumination source

The direct cause of stroboscopic (Flicker) is caused by unstable light intensity. However, the source of the fluctuation characteristic of the light output is that the light source is driven by the alternating current or the direct current voltage, and the light intensity or the luminous flux changes correspondingly with the periodic variation of the current amplitude. Combined with the human eye's perception of the stroboscopic light source, the study found that the following two factors play an important role in the perception of stroboscopic.

The brightness amplitude of the source is usually expressed as a percentage modulation of the amplitude.

The higher the brightness of the light source, the higher the critical strobe frequency.

frequency

The frequency of the illumination source is different, and the percentage of the stroboscopic amplitude that can be perceived by the human eye is also different. Generally, the higher the frequency, the less likely the human eye is to feel stroboscopic.

JA10 test and report requirements for high-efficiency light source strobe

Test coverage of the light source:

Efficient light sources that meet the requirements of CECTITLE 24 include luminaires, light sources and light engines.

Test the possible combinations of devices:

Light source and dimmer.

Low voltage source, voltage regulator and dimmer.

Light source and dimming control device.

Light source, drive and dimming controls.

Light source, ballast and dimming control.

Applicable test equipment and environmental requirements:

Constant temperature test device. The temperature requirement is 25 °C ± 5 °C to prevent stray light from the outside.

Fast photometric probes require an ascending response time of no more than 10us.

The data acquisition oscilloscope requires that the system sampling time interval is not more than 50us, the data recording frequency is not lower than 20KHz, and at least the sampled data within 1s is saved.

Operation

At each dimming level (100%, 20% and minimum dimming level), the following test data needs to be processed and calculated. The formula is as follows:

Fourier analysis data loading operations are required in the frequency domain.

In the time domain, an inverse Fourier analysis data conversion operation is required.

The amplitude modulation percentage test and calculation were performed in the unfiltered and 40 Hz, 90 Hz, 200 Hz, 400 Hz, and 1000 Hz filter frequency states, respectively.

The requirements of the report are as follows:

Telescopic Data Cable

Strong and durable
Aluminum alloy plug, TPE cover

Hidden design

One second stretch, free storage

Ultrasonic welding pressure
Close fitting, firm resistance to fall

Strong and durable
Priority TPE
It's hard to break even if you stretch multiple times

Stretching or shrinking only one end can easily to damage the components and cause jamming

No winding
Stretch when used, shrink when not used

Five lengths
Each pause is a length, suitable for multiple occasions

Notice
Both cables are stretched at the same time
Do not stretch unilaterally
