At the recent CES conference, autonomous driving has consistently been a major highlight, and it's expected that this year's excitement will remain strong. Nissan Motor Company has taken a significant step forward by developing a groundbreaking technology that predicts a driver's behavior based on their brainwave signals. This innovation is currently unmatched globally.
This technology, called "Brain-to-Vehicle," was first introduced and implemented by Nissan. According to Nissan, the system can subtly reduce the driver’s reaction time by analyzing brainwave data to anticipate their actions. For instance, it can detect whether the driver is preparing to turn the steering wheel or apply the brakes, allowing the vehicle to be ready to assist in real-time.
Daniele Schillaci, Executive Vice President of Nissan Motor Co., stated, “When people think about driverless technology, they often assume it means handing over control to the car. However, Brain-to-Vehicle does the opposite—it uses the driver’s brain signals to predict their behavior, allowing them to enjoy driving more while still benefiting from smart assistance.â€
Beyond just predicting actions, the technology can also recognize the driver’s emotional state, helping to create a more comfortable and personalized driving environment. In autonomous mode, the system can automatically adjust the driving style to provide a more realistic and engaging experience for the driver.
The technology will be showcased at the CES conference in Las Vegas on the 9th of this month. Nissan is committed to making this innovation widely available in everyday life, aiming to revolutionize how drivers interact with their vehicles in the future.
